The Salvation Army Kroc Center provides grocery bags with food staples every Friday morning from 8:15am to 9:30am to those registered through the SF-Marin Food Bank.

17.4 million families go to bed hungry each night in the U.S. And an additional 6.9 million families face very low daily food security - that means they don't always know where their next meal is coming from.

Find a Location

The Salvation Army feeds an average of 156,000 every single day in the U.S.

These meals are served to anyone in need - this includes homeless people of all ages, as well as individuals and families who may be down on their luck and in need of a helping hand. In addition to addressing the immediate symptoms of food insecurity, our programs are designed to help identify and treat its root cause. This approach focuses on meeting the physical, mental and spiritual needs of each person and helps move many from hungry to fully healed.

Here are some of the ways we help feed those in need in the Golden State Division.

Food Distributions
The Salvation Army's emergency food distribution program provides donated and purchased food to individuals and families. Case management is provided as necessary. Contact your local Program Center for more information.

Food Pantry
In the United States, more than 35 million people face the threat of hunger. We offer senior congregate meals at several of our locations in San Francisco. In addition, we provide refreshments at our after school programs and snacks and lunch during day camp. We also deliver meals on Thanksgiving and Christmas to house bound seniors and adults.

The Salvation Army Kroc Center provides grocery bags with food staples every Friday morning from 8:15am to 9:30am to those registered through the SF-Marin Food Bank. Some extra groceries bags are available on a first-come first-serve basis after those registered are served.
